What Microsoft disabled are the runtime controls that display the complete index within a Web page.

As far as I know, the <object> tags that are used to define index entries still work. Those are read only by the compiler and do not present a known security risk.


Neither feature automatically creates index entries, but the ones that are converted from DocBook <indexterm> elements into ActiveX objects should still work.
