Subject: RE: [dsaw-program] FW: InfoWorld Announcement

All,

FYI, the text is in the newslog and will be distributed to about 2900+ recipients tomorrow in our monthly e-flash bulletin. The text is found at:
http://itu.int/ITU-T/newslog/Workshop+To+Focus+On+Public+Warning+Systems+Geneva+Event+In+Collaboration+With+OASIS.aspx

I also noticed a note about the WS in the European Union bulletin,

Excellent e-Flash goes to 2962... should go out today. And the media advisory about four times that... should also go out some time this week.

The story was published in news feeds yesterday.

Hi,

Is this format acceptable?

Workshop and Demonstration of Advances in ICT Standards for Public Warning Geneva

http://www.oasis-open.org/events/ITU-T-OASISWorkshop2006/index.php

19-20 October 2006, Geneva, Switzerland.

OASIS is pleased to announce the first international workshop and demonstration/exhibition focusing on standards for public warning. This program has been designed to build upon the results of the earlier ITU-T Workshop on Telecommunications for Disaster Relief that emphasized the practical application of standards for public warnings. The workshop will review the work by Standards Development Organizations (SDOs) in related areas; identify standardization gaps and discover collaboration opportunities for key players from both the public and private sectors. In addition, the two-day workshop will feature an emergency management interoperability demonstration of the Common Alerting Protocol (CAP) OASIS standard, as well as presentations and exhibitions by various players active in public warning. If you have interest in exhibiting, please contact dee.schur@oasis-open.org.
