DISCUSSION

After brief introductions, we finalised the decisions that needed to
be made in order to proceed with chartering an OASIS technical
committee.

1. Name

It was decided that the name will be the OASIS DSML 2.0 Technical Committee.

2. Chair

James Tauber from Bowstreet will be chair of the charted technical
committee.

3. Statement of Purpose

It was agreed that the focus of 2.0 should be around querying and
modification, building on the work of DSML 1.0. RW suggested we should
state the overall goal along the lines of it being possible to perform
all operations on a directory using just DSML. JT was cautious about
the word "all" because it opens up issues of scope that really need to
be addressed during a requirements phase.
 
4. Deliverables and Timescale

End of September      Final Draft of REQUIREMENTS DOCUMENT
End of October        First Draft of SPECIFICATION
End of February       Final Draft of SPECIFICATION
End of February       First Draft of IMPLEMENTATION GUIDE
Early April           Completion of 2.0 Work

NOTE: Work will begin on the specification almost immediately,
concurrent with the requirements document

5. Meeting Schedule

There will be an informal get-together at the OASIS meeting in
Montreal next week.

Bowstreet offered to host a face-to-face some time in October at their
Lynnfield, MA office.

There may be a meeting in February, details of which will be
established towards the end of this year.

6. Teleconference Calls

Tuesdays 1pm EDT sponsored by Bowstreet.

2. JT to prepare the charter for submission to OASIS.
