Subject: TAB Comments on Digital Signature Service Core Protocols, Elements, and Bindings Version 2.0

Greetings!

The OASIS Technical Advisory Board (TAB) on initial public review drafts by OASIS TCs.

On behalf of the TAB I have attached our comments on Digital Signature Service Core Protocols, Elements, and Bindings Version 2.0 Committee Specification Draft 01 / Public Review Draft 01 as DSSCP-28Sept2018.csv.

It isn't necessary to acknowledge each comment separately, just acknowledging the file will be sufficient.

Apologies to the TC but I waited too late to spend time on substantive language or the schemas.

Hope you are having a great week!

Patrick

Define and use representation-specific text formatting consistently.

I don't know how many instances there are of this style until I can throw it against Word but it's a non-trivial number.

I get 372 matches for DSS, 106 for JDSS, 120 for XDSS,

Definitely a show stopper.

Even if these are correct in Word (I haven't fired up my VM to check), their failure in HTML and PDF versions makes this a problem. All three versions should offer a common experience to readers.

Not all on you, I know the list exists and still had trouble finding it. It's on the left hand side of the TC Admin's homepage. Not exactly what you would call obvious. We need a big red button on the OASIS homepage which reads: Advice for Editors - the destination of which has high value content first. Sorry, old concern."
