Subject: AW: [dss-x] Some issues with the current standards

Hallo Andreas,

thanks for your feedback.

For the use cases I have in mind, there is a batch of n documents of the
same structure (for example an electronic prescription or an invoice) which shall be
signed in a uniquely defined manner (if necessary after capturing a unique PIN, which
authorizes the generation of n signatures for n documents; i.e. exactly
signature per document). In this case the problem of correlation input documents
and signatures is trival. Input document #x corresponds to signature #x.

In general I agree that optimzations should be left to the transport
level or specific profiles. In this case however it is NOT an optimization
problem, but a question, whether the core is open enough to support
this kind of batch signature semantics at all.

I agree that the core should be as SIMPLE as possible and sophisticated
details, which are only necessary for some use cases should be left to
specific profiles. But this implies that the core should also be as
OPEN as possible to leave room for the profiles. In this case I would
suggest to think about removing those restrictions in the core, which are
not absolutely necessary.

Best regards,
