WSDL + Swagger as "canonical service description"?

Hi Andreas,

I just thought about the „canonical service description“ again.

The best description a Service could provide would be one,

which would allow a Client to generate the required code for

using the service-interface. Right?

In this case, a WSDL would be the right choice for SOAP-based

web services and for JSON/REST-based interfaces one would

probably use OpenAPI (Swagger).

If I understand https://kalliphant.com/node-generate-yaml-from-wsdl/

correctly, it should be possible (or even straightforward) to generate

an OpenAPI (Swagger) YAML file from a WSDL.

Could this be a more robust, alternative approach for the

JSON/REST case (compared to JSON schema, which is still under development)?
