Subject: Fw: APRIL 14: Maj Gen. Ret. George Norwood and Andras Szakal IBM Chief Architect - "eBusiness on Demand"

Joe,

As I was saying moments ago - no need to go inventing new stuff -
just look how creative consultants can be - left on their own!!

Already ebSOA is obsolete and last years news - and we've
not even had the kick-off meeting yet.

The British Army has a lot to answer for - I would have
allowed new acronyms only by Royal Decree and then
only once they had been approved by the Oxford
Dictionary Review Board and published.

eBOD - happy Googling... ; -)

DW.

> The dynamic provision and consumption of services as an integral part of
the
> business processes of an organization may take place either within or
across
> organizational boundaries. The possibility of a business process crossing
> organizational boundaries raises the need to view the service
> provision-consumption as a business relationship with all the complexity
> such a relationship entails, e.g. information exchange, matchmaking,
> negotiation, contracts, dynamic creation of configurable service
instances,
> etc. The e-Business on Demand lifecycle is a description of the steps
that
> two organizations have to go through in order to establish, enact,
maintain
> and manage the desired business relationship between them. The dynamic
> aspect of e-Business requires automating as much as possible of its
> lifecycle. This work looks at the models, services and tools needed to
> facilitate the automation of certain phases of the lifecycle. One topic
of
> focus is Web Services Matchmaking. A service which is central to the
> e-Business lifecycle is that of matchmaking. The technological as well as
> the business aspects of finding compatible Web services and consumers pose
a
> number of requirements on matchmaking, namely:
> > symmetry of information exchange and selection,
> > powerful description and requirement languages, and
> > dynamic service configuration.
