Subject: BM Redbook: Patterns for Service-Oriented Architecture and Web Services
I had the following action item from yesterday's F2F meeting: Send to the listserv the URL for IBM's Redbook on Patterns for Service-Oriented Architecture and Web Services. Please see [1], an updated version which was just released yesterday. Highlights: - This IBM Redbook focuses on how specific IBM Patterns for e-business can be used to start implementing solutions using the service-oriented architecture approach; - Guidelines are presented for applying the Patterns and service-oriented architecture approach to a sample business scenario and for selecting Web services technologies; - The publication concludes with an examination of how a service-oriented architecture can provide a step in the direction of IBM’s e-business on-demand (eBOD) vision. NOTE: Booz Allen's emerging XML- and Web Services-based service offering called "EISI" (Enterprise Information and Services-Based Integration) is intended to compete with IBM's eBOD.
