Subject: Re: [ebsoa] Re: [soa-rm] RE: [ebsoa] Liaison meeting between SOA-RM and ebSOA

John

I think the ebSOA needs to first spend some time refining our work. Make sure the members of the ebSOA TC understand the base documents the same way. (It would be somewhat embarrassing if we discuss our differences for the first time on another TC's time when they are seeking clarification/information.) I do not believe we have had the necessary calls/emails to explore the details of the submissions; and I do believe we need to peel back to get technical and semantic agreement & understanding.

When we go to other committees in my opinion we should go to those committes (or standard keepers) that have accepted (or defacto) standards first. We need to be able to state how we see the standards operating and solicit feedback on issues and suggestions. Including being prepared to hear negatives. Some of which may not be resolvable because working at a higher level, which FERA does, may expose inherent conflicts.

And how is FERA to be positioned within ebXML? Before FERA is deemed to be ebSOA or a model of ebSOA I think we need to spend time on the 2 steps I am suggesting. And there may be other steps. A number of people have been working on ebXML for a long time and have some strong opinions. (I am not one of them--the long timer that is)

Some thoughts for now, more to follow.

Sally
