I have updated this in the schema and associated specification language. Sorry for the error. I have provided the updated schema snippet below. As well, Dale and I have also suggested that we update a reference in the associated examples to show how this attribute may be used (See: "<!--Shows use of externalDocumentDefRef optional attribute-->".
