To all OASIS TC Chairs:

 

  The OASIS mail server experienced a severe failure at approximately 10am ET on Monday, 31 July. All OASIS mail - including staff email (@oasis-open.org) and TC lists (@lists.oasis-open.org) - has been impacted. Staff members have had their email accounts recreated as of approximately 6pm ET on 1 August; any messages sent after that time are queued in mailboxes. It should be noted, however, that not all staff have yet successfully reconfigured their email applications to enable download. Please note that any messages sent to individual staff members or aliases @oasis-open.org between 10am ET on 31 July and 6pm ET on 1 August have most likely been lost and will need to be resent.

 

  The process of restoring TC email lists, comment lists, and any of the other lists @lists.oasis-open.org (as well as ebxml.org, xml.org, and other OASIS-owned domains) is more complex; unfortunately we do not yet have an estimate of when they will be back online. I assure you that our entire IT staff is working diligently to resolve the problems as quickly as possible. We have posted a notice on each of the TC member pages as well as the "My Groups" page and will provide updates as soon as they are available.

 

  I apologize for anyone who may receive duplicates of this message; I have hand-crafted a list of each of the TC Chairs to include in this message as obviously the chairs list is not functioning at this time.
