Updated ebBP profile for an Integrated Health Enterprise profile provided
by the RIDE project.
Date: 5 June 2006

Code listings (more than that which is included in the updated profile
draft): http://www.srdc.metu.edu.tr/ihe/ebBP/packages/

Software will be developed to support this effort, including wizards so
that IHE vendors and users in a connect-a-thon (or in real life), will
provide the needed information through these wizards which currently they
share through an online database or through an XML file. Open source
software is anticipated to be available in July 2006.

This profile is proposed for IHE profiles and is realized within the scope
of IST 027065 RIDE Project
(http://www.srdc.metu.edu.tr/webpage/projects/ride/)
as a part of the Deliverable D.5.3.1 Contribution to Standardization
Efforts sponsored by the European Commission, DG Information Society and
Media, eHealth Unit
(http://ec.europa.eu/information_society/activities/health/ index_ en.htm).
Use of this technology and specifications such as ebBP provide:
1. Reusability: Using BT for flexible composition
2. Configuration management: Use of ebBP with CPP/CPA.
3. Discovery of configuration information: Leverage ebRegRep.
4. Facilitate the grouping of IHE actors using profiles: Develop software
tools to allow users to graphically group the Actors involved.
5. Software support for configuration: A graphical ebBP editor will
available (likely inline with freebxmlbp).
