Subject: Re: [ebxml-cppa] Comments about Negotiation White Paper
Yukinori, Thank you for your comments. I have some responses below. Regards, Marty ************************************************************************************* Martin W. Sachs IBM T. J. Questions (1) I don't clearly understand the role of UDDI and ebXML Registry, and differences of functions between UDDI and ebXML Registry. Both UDDI and ebXML Registry are services or schemas about discovery of companies or services. In the view point of negotiation of CPA, please tell me typical roles or functions of both UDDI and ebXML registry. MWS: While both UDDI and ebXML are registries, the differ in every possible way as to how they are access, how information is found, etc. Since the world will be filled with both UDDI and ebXML registries, our system will have to work with both. 2. Comments (1) If I understand correctly, NCPA means 'Negotiation CPA'. There is a statement such as 'Normal CPA' in Section 3.6 (Basic Components). I think this 'Normal CPA' is mistaken. This should be altered to 'Negotiation CPA'. I will change "Normal" to "Ordinary" to reduce confusion. The point is that an NCPA is an ordinary CPA that points to a negotiation business process. 3. Requirement (1) If some full line examples are prepared, It will be very helpful to understand functions and structures of Negotiation. If two cases (manual negotiation and automated negotiation) are provided, that will be much better. -NCPA -Manual Negotiation ( if capable) 2 CPPs, initial CPA, manually negotiated CPA -Automated Negotiation 2 CPPs, 2NCPPs, initial CPA, automated CPA MWS: I will consider this and the following.suggestion. Please understand that this document is only for the purpose of helping the negotiation subteam decide on requirements, so it doesn't have to say everything in detail. The details will be in the specification that we write. (2) It is difficult to understand architecture of Automated Negotiation, because this white paper is described by texts only. I recommend to insert some graphical overview about architecture of Automated Negotiation. I made a draft about the architecture of Automated Negotiation, named 'Overview of Automated Negotiation Architecture'. Please review this draft. If you notice some misunderstanding parts, please indicate them. If you think it is suitable to insert this draft to the Negotiation White Paper, please insert this document to the White Paper.
