Subject: [ebxml-cppa] BPSS/CPPA 1.1 issue resolution plan
The 2 most important items in this email are: Over the next few weeks, there will be a series of email messages regarding BPSS/CPPA issues. If you have feedback, please participate. Do you think voting on the resolution to these issues should be done on the lists or on conference calls? I am heading up the BPSS team tasked with resolving BPSS issues related to CPPA and December 23rd is the current deadline for acceptance of proposals for changes to the BPSS 1.1 specification. Brian Hayes and Pallavi Malu are also working on the BPSS/CPPA issues team. With this date fast approaching, I have suggested the following plan to help us all reach this goal. 1. As much as possible, take one issue at a time. 2. A potential solution will be proposed by the BPSS/CPPA issues team or someone with the time and interest to address a specific issue. 3. The potential solution will be quickly reviewed by the BPSS/CPPA issues team. 4. The issue and potential solution will be posted to the BPSS and CPPA lists for comments. 5. If there is no dissenting opinion or alternative solution, we can put it to a vote for approval. (On the list(s) or in a conference call?) 6. If there is dissenting opinion or an alternative solution, try to come to consensus on the list. 7. If consensus cannot be reached, take it up on a conference call. No doubt there will be some issues which will require conference calls to discuss and resolve. But I think the 7 steps above will let us close a number of issues with relative expediency and ease. As always, your comments and feedback are appreciated. David Smiley Director of Standards Mercator Software 540.338.3355
