About PAA

The Pan-Asian Alliance was formed in 1999 by five e-commerce service providers: Infoshare Information Technology Development Co (China), Korea Trade Network (KTNET), Singapore Network Services Pte Ltd (SNS), Trade-Van Information Services Co (Taiwan) and Tradelink Electronic Commerce Ltd (Hong Kong).
Combined membership of the parties now exceeds 120,000 organizations, representing almost all active trading enterprises in the Asian market.

ebXML Framework for PAA

We had several alternatives in order to build PAA Technical Architecture. Through several Face-to-Face Working group meetings and teleconferences, we finally decide PAA Technical Architecture based on ebXML.

We valued ebXML's interoperability, flexibility, extensibility and reliability. Most of all, ebXML is the only global e-business framework. This decision was the most important one for PAA Working Group members. We all believe that ebXML will give a lot of benefit as time goes by.

The Scope of ebXML to adopt

ebXML consists of 5 components(TRP, TP, Registry, BP, CC). In the first phase, PAA decides to adopt 3 components of ebXML(TRP, TP, Registry). In addition, Security is adopted using XML Signature and Secure Transport. In the next phase, we have a plan to adopt BP and CC components to support full specification of ebXML.

ebXML TRP is used for secure and reliable transport, routing & packaging. ebXML TP is used for managing Trding Partner's profiles and Agreement. ebXML Registry is used for sharing information between Trading Partners.

PAA Business Scenario on ebXML

PAA's Business Scenario is based on Business Scenario 3 of ebXML TA. We are Service Providers for EDI, XML/EDI and even XML. Therefore we have to provide transparent service for our customers without environment changes.
