Subject: Issue Support for simple SOAP [ such as text/xml] "packaging" element
8.4.12.2 The REQUIRED packageId attribute is an [XML] IDREF that identifies the Packaging element to be associated with the Message identified by the action attribute. See also The defaultMshPackageId attribute identifies the default Packaging to be used for sending standalone Message Service Handler[ebMS] level messages. ==== The language used in 8.4.12.2 strongly suggests that the IDREF points to a Packaging element only. The Packaging element has no provision for simple MIME parts (unless you consider encapsulated MIME parts will MIME content-types such as application/pkcs7-signed simple). At any rate, it is not clear that a SimplePart might be all the MIME packaging that is involved! To remedy this ommission, it is proposed that the language of 8.4.12.2 be modified to state that: The REQUIRED packageId attribute is an [XML] IDREF that identifies the Packaging element (or the SimplePart element) to be associated with the Message identified by the action attribute. And also: The defaultMshPackageId attribute identifies the default Packaging or SimplePart element to be used for sending standalone Message Service Handler[ebMS] level messages.
