Subject: RE: [ebxml-cppa] Closure of TC?

The work in progress can go on either within ebCore or, as we had planned, within the CPPA TC until we ratify it as a committee draft.

But we could just submit the draft we have in its present state to ebCore and close out the CPPA TC. It is really just a bureaucratic SDO procedural matter as far as I can tell.

And there really is no precedent here to guide us because OASIS does not exactly have a “maintenance” process defined for its standards.

I am happy to close out the CPPA TC because we aren’t currently meeting and most of the work is either in investigating what messaging standards would like to have CPPA support that links process level descriptions to technical binding details of a protocol or in polishing up the drafts.

There are 2 new large prospects in this area that we can discuss either in ebCore or in a TC meeting. Given all of our schedules, I suggest using part of an ebCore meeting.

Pim,

Concur - we had some good next steps in the hopper.

Not sure best options at this point - perhaps we can discuss at the next ebCore meeting and determine what we need to do first?

Thanks, DW

Mary,

There is work ongoing and planned for CPA, but it is progressing slowly due to other projects the TC members are involved in.

The TC should discuss what work we can/want to finish in this TC, and when/what to transition to ebCore.

Subject: [ebxml-cppa] Closure of TC?

Hi everyone,

I notice that there are only 2 voting members, and that there have been no emails since mid-May. I know that the TC was planning on transitioning its work to the ebxml-core TC – has that happened?

  According to OASIS Policy:

----

2.15 Closing a TC

A TC may be closed by Full Majority Vote of the TC, by Resolution of the OASIS Board of Directors, or by the OASIS TC Administrator.

The TC Administrator must close a TC that has completed the deliverables listed in its Charter if the TC does not add new deliverables or that fails to elect a Chair for the period provided in Section 2.7.

The TC Administrator may close a TC that fails to conduct at least one Quorate Meeting or conduct any Specification Ballots during any six month period; whose membership falls below the Minimum Membership; which has not completed its deliverables within the schedule listed in its Charter; or which has failed to show progress towards achieving its purpose as defined by its Charter.

----

Should we begin the process of shutting down this group?

Regards,

Mary
