To all,
The OASIS ebXML Implementation, Interoperability, and
Conformance Technical Committee is preparing to submit a group of
conformance and interoperability test framework documents to the ebXML
Messaging Services Technical Committee for
review and comments as we move forward in both conformance and
interoperability testing of implementations of all ebXML
specifications.
Prior to formal submission, these documents are being
"pre-released" for review by members of the the IIC. In
addition, conformance test requirements
will be voted on for submission to the MS TC. Some of the documents
are still "works in progress" (in particular, the conformance
and interoperability test suite documents ), but feedback early in the
process will greatly aid us in preparing them for submission as OASIS
specifications. The following documents are available on the OASIS
IIC web pages in the "documents" section:
1) The draft MS Conformance Test Suite specification
outlines the overall testing framework that will be used for the
conformance testing campaign.
This includes definition and design of test requirements, test cases and
test steps, profiles and the test harness architecture.

2) The Annotated Message Service Specification provides highlighted annotation to all areas of the specification that are addressed by test requirements. Annotations are graduated to indicate whether a portion of the specification is covered fully, partially or is not covered by test requirements.

3) The ebXML MS Conformance Test Requirements document ( in both Word and HTML formats... Word format also contains a brief description of test requirement structure ). This document lists the test assertions that are derived from the Annotated Message Service Specification. These test assertions ( axiomatic, atomic-level assertions of expected conformant behavior ) form the basis from which actual MS test cases will be developed.
Word Format: http://www.oasis-open.org/committees/ebxml-iic/documents/ms_20_conformance_testreqs_v1.doc
HTML: http://www.oasis-open.org/committees/ebxml-iic/documents/ms_20_conformance_testreqs_v1.html
4) The MS Interoperability Test Suite specification outlines the overall testing framework that will be used for the ebXML MS interoperability testing campaign.
This includes definition and design of test cases and test steps, profiles and the test harness architecture.

Comments on all documents are encouraged. Of particular importance, voting on the collection of conformance test requirements for submission to the MS TC will take place during next week's conference call on Monday, July 22 ( phone-in info to follow ). Please send any comments to the appropriate IIC mailing list, and they will be recorded and addressed prior to next weeks conference call.
Thanks,
Mike
