Subject: Re: [ebxml-iic] ebxml-builders
Message text written by Matthew MacKenzie >The goal is to get something going much like soapbuilders, where vendors can work out solutions for parts of the specs that are not yet sufficient. If the community flourishes, we may even be able to foster a level of cooperation among vendors that rivals what has been done in soapbuilders, where everyone exposes an endpoint of their latest product so that the other vendors can make sure that they work with everyone else. <<<< Matt, The ebXML MHS implementor community will clearly vote here as they see best. At the OAG meeting today the whole notion of an ebXMLbuilders in line with the SOAPbuilders was warmly supported as a means to allow individual implementors to collaborate. This informal structure is critical to allowing implementors to field-test components prior to joining more formal efforts such as the NIST testbed or interoperability testing. It allows vendors to work together to test out interoperability and build a wide base of stable ebXML MHS implementations that are vital to driving the universal adoption of ebXML. I think we can check back in a couple of weeks at the end of the month to get a head count of who has joined in this vital effort - and started this process. I already had four vendors giving verbal support for this today at the OAG meeting. Cheers, DW.
