Subject: Notes from our ebXML JC telecon
Attendees: Ian Karl Kathryn Dale Karl reviewed the decision to submit the ebXML v2.0 OASIS approved standards to ISO (these were already approved by CEFACT). Including errata with the submission is not a problem. Karl will pull the standards in PDF from the website, add the approved erratas, and will be sending the submission package to ISO in the next couple of days. It takes 2 months for ISO to prepare the ballot and there is a 3 month voting period, so by the end of March they should be approved. The plan is to submit the ebXML standards as a package at major revisions, probably once a year. The specs should all interoperate at the various major revisions (2.0, 3.0, etc). OASIS is looking at submitting other OASIS standards to various standards organizations to promote adoption and international approval. There was some discussion about whether or not there is a need for ebXML joint architecture. This will be discussed again at our next telecon. The ebXML Business Process TC had their first meeting on October 20th. They have applied for ebXML JC membership, and have been accepted. Monica Martin will be their representative. Our next meeting will be November 19th at 9:00 am PT. Kathryn Breininger OASIS ebXML Registry TC Chair Current ebXML JC Chair 425-965-0182 phone 425-237-3491 fax kathryn.r.breininger@boeing.com
