Subject: Notes from our meeting Jan. 22, 2007

Here are the notes from our meeting this morning. Please send any
corrections, clarifications, etc.

Attendees:
Kale
Jacques
Kathryn
Monica
Ian

1. ebXML.XML.org
We discussed progress on updating the Knowledge base pages for the ebXML
TCs (<http://ebxml.xml.org/knowledge-base>). Several people have had
problems with linking, adding content, etc. Kathryn took the action item
to invite Carol to a future webex meeting in order to have a short
training session.

2. Report on ISO HL7 meeting
Monica and Kathryn were on the phone for the ISO HL7 meeting, but had a
very difficult time hearing. Dale and Jacques were at the meeting in
person. Dale did the ebXML overview. Much of the discussion concerned
messaging. There were 8 people in the meeting, and not all were familiar
with ebXML. They are still working on their requirements for HL7 in
terms of messaging, and have several HL7 issues that need to be dealt
with first. They also expressed an interest in core components,
although they do not have any detailed requirements yet. Dale commented
we should have had someone to talk about core components at the meeting.
Not as interested in CPPA, Registry or Business Process at this time.
They are looking for an opportunity to promote semantic exchanges such
as OWL and RDF. There will be another meeting in March in Montreal where
the ISO HL7 team will be making some recommendations. It is anticipated
that these recommendations will include core components and ebXML
Messaging, as well as proposing a future direction with ebXML. Monica
will send the presentation materials.

3. Updating ebXML on Wikipedia
The team discussed ways to promote ebXML and counter negative reports.
One suggestion from Sacha was to update the ebXML entry on Wikipedia
(<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ebxml>). Jacques reviewed sections of the
ebXML entry and volunteered to update the entry for us. He will use much
of the material from the White Paper we did last year
(<http://www.oasis-open.org/apps/org/workgroup/ebxml-jc/download.php/178
18/ebxmljc-WhitePaper-wd-diff02-en.doc>). In addition, the JC
recommended he provide links to the ebXML.XML.org site as well as the
interviews Sacha did last summer
(<http://www.ebxml.org/ebxmlpodcasts.htm>).

4. Suite of ebXML webinars for 2007
Kathryn brought up a suggestion Carol made to have a series of webinars
on ebXML. The idea was that these would occur close together, with each
webinar focusing on one of the ebXML TCs' work. The JC agreed this would
be a good activity for this year. Kathryn took an action item to ask
OASIS about timing and resource support for a suite of ebXML webinars.

5. No other items.

Next telecon on February 5th, at 9:00 am Pacific Time.
