Gait,

Just clarification on this.  The ebXML work follows the CEFACT UN language guidelines and hence Oxford english.  This one crept in though because OASIS tends to publish mostly US english documents with American editors...

As you note - the interchanges should follow the schemas.  The written documentation is generally less rigorously edit checked.
