state-of-the-union address from the OASIS Board of Directors and offer
open feedback on the issues affecting the Consortium and standards
development.

* Evening reception, the perfect place to network with OASIS members,
directors, and staff--New Orleans style.

Call for Presentations

Today, many different--and partially interchangeable--technologies are
available that propose to increase the reliability of XML-based
messaging and networking infrastructure. The OASIS Symposium on Reliable
Infrastructures for XML brings together experts and developers from
around the globe to discuss the alternatives, determine the fit behind
the specifications, and assess just how close the solutions lie. The
Symposium provides attendees with a forum to exchange ideas and present
results of standards work-in-progress. It also offers the opportunity to
identify unaddressed topics in need of standardization and areas where
coordination between standards efforts would promote interoperability.
Deadline for proposals: 9 Feb.

2004 Jazz Fest New Orleans

The OASIS Symposium coincides with the popular New Orleans Jazz
Festival, an event that celebrates the indigenous music and culture of
New Orleans and Louisiana with music encompassing every style associated
with the city and the state--blues, R&B, gospel, Cajun, zydeco,
Afro-Caribbean, folk, Latin, rock, rap, country, bluegrass and
everything in between--and, of course, lots of jazz, both contemporary
and traditional.
