open feedback on the issues affecting the Consortium and standards

* Evening reception, the perfect place to network with OASIS members,
directors, and staff--New Orleans style.

Call for Presentations

Today, many different--and partially interchangeable--technologies are
available that propose to increase the reliability of XML-based
messaging and networking infrastructure. The OASIS Symposium on Reliable
Infrastructures for XML brings together experts and developers from
around the globe to discuss the alternatives, determine the fit behind
the specifications, and assess just how close the solutions lie. The
Symposium provides attendees with a forum to exchange ideas and present
results of standards work-in-progress. It also offers the opportunity to
identify unaddressed topics in need of standardization and areas where
coordination between standards efforts would promote interoperability.
Deadline for proposals: 9 Feb.

OASIS Technical Committee Meetings
Space will be available for OASIS TCs wishing to conduct face-to-face
working sessions on Wednesday and Thursday, 28-29 April. Cost of the
meeting rooms will be waived based on sleeping room occupancy; space is
limited. TC chairs are asked to contact dee.schur@oasis-open.org ASAP to
reserve space.

Sponsorship Opportunities

If your organization would like to be recognized as a sponsor of the
OASIS Symposium, please contact dee.schur@oasis-open.org. A variety of
sponsorship opportunities are available.

New Orleans Marriott

All functions associated with the OASIS Symposium will be held at the
New Orleans Marriott, just steps from the French Quarter. A very limited
number of rooms are available at the special OASIS Symposium rate of
159.00 USD/night. The deadline for securing this rate is 9 April 2004,
however, it is very possible that the OASIS room block will sell out
before that date. All attendees are advised to reserve early! Please
make your reservations directly with the hotel by calling the
International Toll-Free Phone: +1-800-228-9290 or +1-504-581-1000 or
faxing to +1-504-523-6755. To obtain the conference rate, you must
identify yourself as an "OASIS Symposium Attendee."

2004 Jazz Fest New Orleans

The OASIS Symposium coincides with the popular New Orleans Jazz
Festival, an event that celebrates the indigenous music and culture of
New Orleans and Louisiana with music encompassing every style associated
with the city and the state--blues, R&B, gospel, Cajun, zydeco,
Afro-Caribbean, folk, Latin, rock, rap, country, bluegrass and
everything in between--and, of course, lots of jazz, both contemporary
and traditional.

**Exclusive OASIS Sponsor Benefit: Cover Pages Briefings**
