Subject: RE: [ebxml-msg] Groups - Weekly ebXML Messaging TC added

Hello Ian and others,

Please allow me to ask you to consider the following additional subject for
your meeting. As you know, OASIS has adopted a new IPR Policy, which defines
IPR three modes in which TCs can operate.
These modes are defined in the IPR Policy, section 4:

http://www.oasis-open.org/who/intellectualproperty.php#tcformation

Your TC operates in the "Legacy" mode, as it was formed before the current
IPR Policy was established.
There is a two year transition period, running until April 2007, during
which TCs can migrate to one of the new modes (unless they are finished and
want to close before transitioning).
The transition process is defined in the following document:

http://www.oasis-open.org/who/ipr/ipr_transition_policy.php

Can you as TC members decide (and let me know the outcome) if the TC intends
to migrate?
As you will be producing new specifications this year, and possibly in the
future, it is important to make a decision on this topic and to let us know.

Looking forward to your response to this.

Pim van der Eijk
