Hi Colin,
 
I came across something interesting and wanted to let you know about it.  OASIS has put an application into the ISO to become a recognized submitter of "Publicly Available Specifications" (PAS).  A PAS is a publication relating to a topic where there may not be full consensus across all stakeholders.  Typically this is when there is no existing standard and the subject is still under technical development. 
 
The request is likely to be approved by the end of October.  What this means for you is that some OASIS documents may eventually become ISO documents, thereby eliminating some of the concerns around alignment between OASIS and ISO.
