Governments around the world have invested in public services that strive to increase quality, while decreasing costs. Over time, as even the least developed countries move to providing more e-services, it has become increasingly clearer that e-Government has not delivered all they had hoped. Recently there has been a shift of perspective to 'Transformational Government', which aims beyond the technical aspects of better enabling e-government processes towards addressing the cultural and organizational barriers which have hindered public service benefits realization.
OASIS is offering a complimentary ‘Transformational Government Workshop’, in cooperation with the World Bank e-Development Group and CS Transform, to provide a forum to learn first-hand about this recent shift. All are welcome to attend to hear experiences and lessons learned from developed and developing countries, and to participate in a series of interactive sessions aimed at recruiting input that can be taken forward by the new OASIS Transformational Government Framework Technical Committee.
The workshop, sponsored by OASIS Foundational Member, Microsoft, is open to all and free of charge. Advance registration ends 8 December. The OASIS Transformational Government Framework Technical Committee will hold a f2f meeting in conjunction with the workshop on 10 December at the Hilton Washington Embassy Row.
