Subject: Re: [egov] ebXML and web services
Joe, Great point. Of course tax filings thru ebMS one would expect to be business submissions or state submissions - but they could also be from an accounting package in a P2P type configuration. One thing for certain is that the IRS lives in the 19th century here in the USA when it comes to burdening people with paper accounting instead of electronic! Anyway - for more info' on messaging choices and ebMS - see the whitepaper at the ebXML.org site, and a nice article discussing same is at: http://www.ebxmlforum.org/articles/ebFor_Art_20030613_01.html Thanks, DW. =================================================================== Message text written by "Chiusano Joseph" ><Quote1> It seems logical (to me at least) that the transactions would use ebXML and the services would use SOAP/WSDL. </Quote1> Citing your "file a tax return" example: Although one does not require any aspect of the ebXML framework to carry out such a transaction (it has often been done with an HTML page using ASP and an HTTP POST to submit the tax return form), such a transaction *could* be part of an ebXML framework. It all depends on what the overall business/system objective is. <
