I am very sorry to hear this. You have played an enormously important role in getting so many things started, putting issues on the agenda and keeping balls rolling. Many many sincere thank you's for that. You will be greatly missed - and I do hope that you will still be active in the standardisation circles.

 

I certainly hope someone can come forward soon and take your place, though that will most definitely be hard. It is not possible for myself or anybody in my office at the moment.

There have been substantial changes in my office over recent weeks resulting in my current loan to this office coming to an end and me now having to return to my home department, the Inland Revenue.  With that change I can no longer represent UK Government on OASIS matters.  Therefore I need to step down as chair of the TC and seek a replacement.   You need now to elect a new chair from among the membership so can you let me have nominations by 29th October and I will instigate a vote.

I am sorry to have to resign but circumstances are beyond my control.
