Subject: [Fwd: [P1619-3] FW: Layout of Your June Security Column]
FYI. From my perspective, there is no conflict with SKSML and the IEEE protocol. The 1619.3 WG is committed to solving the KM problem for storage devices, while SKSML/EKMI addresses KM for everything in an enterprise. Once both standards have been finalized, it is my personal belief that Storage Device Management Consoles will accept KM policies/keys from either 1619.3 KM Servers or from EKMI's SKS Servers and use the IEEE protocol to push it down to the storage devices. If you haven't already thought of attending the KMS 2008 in Baltimore in the fall, you might want to consider attending. It will be the first time that EKMI, KEYPROV (the IETF group) and the IEEE 1619.3 WG will be discussing their work in one place under one conference. Should be exciting. http://keymanagementsummit.com/2008/index.php?option=com_frontpage&Itemid=1 Arshad Noor StrongAuth, Inc. -------- Original Message -------- Subject: [P1619-3] FW: Layout of Your June Security Column Date: Tue, 20 May 2008 10:54:02 -0700 From: Luther Martin <martin@VOLTAGE.COM> Reply-To: Luther Martin <martin@VOLTAGE.COM> To: P1619-3@LISTSERV.IEEE.ORG FYI - here's the final version of the IEEE Computer column on P1619.1 that will be out in June.
