Subject: ION GNSS Conference
I mentioned on the O&E call this morning about a session I am looking to chair a the ION GNSS Conference in September.
My session description isn’t posted yet…But here is the rundown:
MITRE will be chairing several sessions at the upcoming ION GNSS, the largest Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) conference in the world, which will be held in Portland, OR in September. See www.ion.org <http://www.ion.org/>
One of our conference organizers, Don McGarry, is looking to have a session dedicated to the use of "GPS+" (GPS, along with other means of navigation) for security and public safety applications. Don is thinking about applications like emergency vehicle dispatch and routing and coordination, outdoor search and rescue, fighting forest fires, smoke jumping, border patrol, monitoring people on parole or similar, etc...The plan would be to have a session lasting between 1.5 to 3 hours, where invited experts each give their views on current and future GPS needs and capabilities.
Here is a link to the conference page:
Let me know if you are interested in presenting an “invited paper”.
