Gang,
Since we'll be taking a second pass at the CAP event terms list this Friday, I've invited two of my National Weather Service colleagues to join the meeting. They are Eli Jacks and Danielle Nagele. Eli is our Forecast Services Division Chief who oversees the programs where many of the event terms may be used. He is also heavily involved in the work done by the World Meteorological Organization. Danielle works for Eli and is well versed in social science. They are both leading the NWS Hazard Simplification effort, so alert language usage has been their area of work over the last few years.Â
I do expect that Eli and Danielle will come to the table with a few comments/questions regarding specific terms and may wish to take back a couple items for further consideration across their program areas.
