Subject: Hospital Availability Exchange Message
I
have attached a document object model that represents the review of the HAVE
model by a group of subject matter experts participating in a National
Information Exchange Model (NIEM) Information Exchange Package Documentation
(IEPD) focus group in Washington, DC during the week of January 15, 2007. The
focus group recommended the following revision of the data classes and
attributes: 1.
Hospital Facility Status: change “Clinical
Status” attribute to “Clinical Operations” 2.
Hospital Facility Status: change “EOC Status”
attribute to “HCC Status” (Hospital Coordinating Center Status) 3.
Move Morgue Capacity attribute and Decon Capacity
attribute from Hospital Facility Status to the Hospital Clinical Status class 4.
Add “Surge Capacity” to Hospital Clinical
Status Class, as a description of Bed Capacity Please
also note that because the focus group did not incorporate the Distribution
Element as part of the Hospital Availability Exchange Message being defined as
part of the IEPD, that sender information, including the role of the
organization (e.g., healthcare provider, temporary morgue services, daycare,
etc.), basic organizational information, ancillary facilities and location, is
also represented in the Hospital Availability Exchange Message model, attached
hereto. We
hope that the focus group’s review and comments may be helpful to the emergency
management technical committee’s work. Please feel free to contact
the undersigned for further information. Sincerely, Catherine
