 -- Jeff Waters

The document named 06-08-10-Minutes-IF-Subcommittee-DRAFT
(06-08-10-Minutes-IF-Subcommittee-DRAFT.doc) has been submitted by Jeff
Waters to the EM Infrastructure Framework SC document repository.

Document Description:
Minutes from the IF SC meeting of June 8, 2010. At this meeting, the
members discussed the upcoming face-2-face meeting and also the purpose of
the DE. : (1) Face-2-face meeting June 28-30 in McClean, Don will send out
agenda; (2) use cases will be presented first, anyone welcome to submit, in
advance would be better, can follow Don's format; (3) we will then uncover
issues, add to issues list, prioritieze and work through them. Goal is to
get requirements for DE defined in 2nd quarter. (4) Purpose of DE is one
of those issues. General agreement that there is a continuum across two
ends of a spectrum, one being the formal grid-based national routing
infrastructure (nonrepudiation, policy-oriented routinge) where DE is used
within the grid and the other more informal use for general packaging and
routing by local systems or in RSS-type polling situations. Each has its
challenges, but one concept is that DE is flexible enough to support both.
