Subject: NO TEP meeting today - see below for next steps
Folks, The last TEP public review period was finished on December 6 with no comments received. So our next step is to bring the Committee Spec Draft to the TC for a vote. Elysa, as we discussed on the last call, please put on the TC call agenda a motion in the TC to request the Special Majority Vote. I will complete and submit the form below (request for vote). Thanks all, Tim From: Chet Ensign [mailto:chet.ensign@oasis-open.org] Hi Tim, The public review period ends on 23:59 GMT 06 December 2013. If you have no comments on the draft, then please just send an email to the TC mailing list indicating that the public review closed and no comments were received. That will satisfy the public review comment log requirement. So then the next step will be to approve the Committee Specification Draft as a Committee Specification. That requires that I set up a Special Majority Vote for the TC. So your steps are: - Approve a motion in the TC to request the Special Majority Vote. - Fill out the request for the vote at https://www.oasis-open.org/resources/tc-admin-requests/committee-specification-ballot-request I will then set up and run the ballot. Once it is closed - assuming it passes of course - I will prepare the CS01 version and announce it to the TC and the membership. If it's statement of use, I'd like to set up a short call to ask a couple of questions. Thanks,
Paul/Chet, We have confirmed that the file named “edxl-tep-v1.0-wd05.xsd” is the correct file. It includes the change which instigated the 15-day review. We also agree that “wd” should be removed from the file name, and that file should simply be re-named “edxl-tep-v1.0.xsd” Does that cover all of your questions? We received no further comments from this latest public review, and will wish to move forward with publication. What is the next step and what do you need from our subcommittee? From: Timothy Grapes [mailto:tgrapes@hotmail.com] Paul/Chet, Sorry for the delay responding. The eap file is the enterprise architect file that was used to create the DOM graphic. It should not be released. Thanks for the detailed check of the xsd files. I am working to follow up with that with another member, who unfortunately just got out of knee surgery. Tim From: Chet Ensign [mailto:chet.ensign@oasis-open.org] Ah yes, I knew that Werner had left. Regarding acknowledgements, the Acknowledgements section of your documents can be updated for any draft and you can certainly leave Werner listed there. Because that is spec content, you all need to do the updating. I don't monkey around with your content. For the cover pages, you should feel free to notify us who should be listed as editors on the front page. You can either do that on the front page of your working draft or let us know in the notes section of the request ticket. I have no problem changing that to meet your expectations. FYI, Werner is no longer a member of OASIS as he is no longer with IEM and has moved to Europe. He hopes to join again as an individual but I don’t think that has happened yet. We would like very much to acknowledge him (and the doc still lists him as editor). This raises a question for me in that when in the process can we/should we update those listed specifically in the spec. He is also listed on the DE as he was very active in that development as well. Thanks for your insights on this. Cheers, Elysa From: Paul Knight [mailto:paul.knight@oasis-open.org] Hi Tim, Elysa, Werner, I have a couple of questions regarding the EDXL-TEP material submitted for publication recently [1]. First, in the approved ZIP file for EDXL-TEP [2], there is a file named "edxl-tep-v1.0-wd05.eap." Should this file be published along with the rest of the material? If so, we will probably put it in a subdirectory like /eap/ and point to it (in the "Additional artifacts" section of the front page) using a phrase like "Enterprise Architect Project package" (unless you have a preferred suggestion). Second, the ZIP file contains two related schema (.xsd) files, and the TC's intent regarding publishing them is not clear to me. - the ZIP file's subdirectory "TEP_Schemas" contains the file "edxl-tep-v1.0.xsd." - accompanying the main files in the ZIP (the ODT, PDF and the .eap file) is a similar schema file "edxl-tep-v1.0-wd05.xsd", which apparently has one additional line (under IncidentIDType at line 191) ********* <xsd:element name="source" type="ct:EDXLStringType" /> *********** Should the file "edxl-tep-v1.0-wd05.xsd" be renamed and substituted for the file "edxl-tep-v1.0.xsd" in the TEP_Schemas subdirectory? Or how should it be handled? There is no apparent reference in the EDXL-TEP document itself to any .eap file, or to the file "edxl-tep-v1.0-wd05.xsd." For both cases, the .eap file and the .xsd file, we strongly recommend against publishing files named with a "wd" string in the file name. It leads to serious versioning problems.
