Subject: FW: Emergency Data Exchange Language (EDXL) Tracking of Emergency Patients (TEP) V1.0 CS01 published
All, The forwarded message announces the official "OASIS Standards Final Deliverable" of the EDXL Tracking of Emergency Patients (TEP) standard, which many of you worked so hard to define through requirements definition and exercises. This milestone could actually have happened sooner, however the technical committee held off during our preliminary TEP/HL7 collaboration to ensure that process did not uncover potential TEP changes. This OASIS/HL7 collaboration will provide the mechanism for the "last leg" of TEP bidirectional data exchange, with hospitals who are HL7 users. Hospitals who do not currently use HL7 standards have the option of using TEP as is (e.g. the Tennessee NDMS live exercises). However, hospitals implementing HL7 ADT messages can soon receive and send TEP data through this bidirectional Transformation Specification. The specification provides a translation between HL7 messages and TEP. That product is on the current HL7 ballot scheduled for March 28, 2014. I would like to thank you one and all, and congratulations you on this achievement. Best to all for a prosperous 2014, Tim Timothy Grapes 703.304.4829 ____________________________________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________________________________ ____ -----Original Message----- From: Chet Ensign [mailto:chet.ensign@oasis-open.org] Sent: Thursday, January 16, 2014 3:17 PM To: tc-announce@lists.oasis-open.org; members@lists.oasis-open.org; emergency@lists.oasis-open.org Subject: [members] Emergency Data Exchange Language (#EDXL) Tracking of Emergency Patients (TEP) V1.0 CS01 published OASIS Members, We are pleased to announce the approval and publication of a new Committee Specification by the members of the OASIS Emergency Management TC: Emergency Data Exchange Language (EDXL) Tracking of Emergency Patients (TEP) Version 1.0 Committee Specification 01 23 December 2013 Overview: EDXL-TEP is an XML messaging standard primarily for exchange of emergency patient and tracking information from the point of patient encounter through definitive care admission or field release.
