Subject: RE: Status of TEP CS

Elysa,

I may have misrepresented the level of effort remaining to complete the transformation specification. While I believe we have worked out the “how” of what I think are all of the tough mapping issues, there are still a large quantity of mappings that need to be detailed and documented. The few of us active on the TEP SC have had very little or no time available to tackle the pending mappings in the last few weeks, so we aren’t as far along as I was hoping to be at this point.

While I have not seen any “show stopper” mapping issues to date, my preference would be to wait until the mapping is complete to advance TEP. If others disagree, I can support advancing it as it currently stands.

Subject: Status of TEP CS

Patti,

I’m delighted of the great work that you and the subcommittee have done to keep working through the details of the TEP-HL7 transformation specification.  Given that y’all are down to the last few remaining items, it is time to consider advancing the TEP document?  I recall we left it on hold in case the effort of building the transformation spec might highlight changes we needed for TEP.  We also have the statements of use completed, so if there are no changes, we could begin the standard ratification process.  Thoughts?

Cheers,
