Subject: RE: [emergency] Gartner"Here's What's Wrong With XML-Defined Standards"
I could easily go on a tangent as to why this report doesn't fully capture reality (it tells the truth, but not the whole truth, but I think the thing to really walk away from this (and John I think this was your point), is that we need to be smart about how we develop our standards. We need to take the extra time to see what is out there, to see how they all fit together, to see how we can best utilize our energy, and finally to see how to we can help drive adoption. Because adoption is what will ultimately make our efforts successful. In my eyes, this validates our need and desire to research the landscape, to create a requirements document, and to perform the necessary outreach to bring interest to the group. Good read - thanx for forwarding. Allen > -----Original Message----- > From: Aerts, John F.
