Actually, the agreement for CAP 1.0 was to agree on using WGS 84 for version 1.0 and then to consider use of other CRS's as an optional component of the spec for a later version of CAP. The agreement was also that this could be done in such a way as not to break existing CAP implementations nor to make implementation of an optional CRS onerous. There is a way forward that is simple, non-disruptive, and provides 100% backwards compatibility. Will discuss this along with CIRCLE/POLYGON structure in the GIS SC telecon tomorrow.
