Subject: FYI: OGC Emergency and Disaster Management Domain Working Group


The OGC has recently formed a new Emergency and Disaster Management Domain Working Group. The charter of this new DWG is publicly available. This WG actually a revitalization of the older OGC Risk Management special interest group.
 
The first formal meeting of the EDM DWG will be in Toulouse France next Monday. The Agenda is:
 
  • Presentations (one hour, 15 minute presentations):
    • "Earthquake Disaster Information System for the Marmara Region, Turkey" - Christian Kiehle, lat/lon GmbH
    • "Emergency Support System - architecture and data fusion" - Tomas Reznik, Masaryk University
    • “Adoption of OGC standards and architectural principles in Emergency Response Core Services pre-operational platform – Project SAFER”- Arnauld Cauchy, EADS Astrium
    • "Open, interoperable enterprise solutions for Emergency and Disaster Management" -  Andrea Fiduccia, Intergraph
  • EDM DWG collaboration with OGC Alliance Partners (OASIS, IJIS, IETF, NENA, others)
Please notice the last bullet item. If there are any standards coordination issues you would like discussed, please let me know.
