Hi Carl,

Is NCOIC not an OGC Alliance Partner?

If not, should I suggest that at the upcoming NCOIC Plenary Sept. 27-Oct. 1, 2010?

In sub-bullet three, is "Emergency Response Core Services" identical to NCOIC Net-Enabled Emergency Response Integrated Project Team (NEER-IPT) "Core Services"?

is there a need for an NCOIC representative to OGC? If there is one, can you give me that person's contact info? I'm speaking with Paul Mangione this afternoon, is there anything you'd like me to ask him?

I would suggest including NATO in this mix since the Civilian-Military Cooperation (CIMIC) effort is a great deal more important in Europe than here, not that it is unimportant here.

The leader/lead author of the TSO is Martine Couturier of EADS. I would suggest inviting her, and making sure that OGC-GML is included in her work with TSO (Tactical Situation Object). OGC is not mentioned in the presentation on it.

The OGC has recently formed a new Emergency and Disaster Management Domain Working Group. The charter of this new DWG is publicly available. This WG actually a revitalization of the older OGC Risk Management special interest group.

 

The first formal meeting of the EDM DWG will be in Toulouse France next Monday. The Agenda is:

 

• Presentations (one hour, 15 minute presentations):
• "Earthquake Disaster Information System for the Marmara Region, Turkey" - Christian Kiehle, lat/lon GmbH
• "Emergency Support System - architecture and data fusion" - Tomas Reznik, Masaryk University

• "Open, interoperable enterprise solutions for Emergency and Disaster Management" -  Andrea Fiduccia, Intergraph
• EDM DWG collaboration with OGC Alliance Partners (OASIS, IJIS, IETF, NENA, others)

Please notice the last bullet item. If there are any standards coordination issues you would like discussed, please let me know.
