Subject: CCAT's 1401 Solicitation Now Open

The Office of Secretary of Defenses' 1401 Program and Center for Commercialization of Advanced Technology (CCAT) is pleased to announce the opening of its latest national solicitation. This solicitation seeks to identify mature technologies (minimum TRL 6) that have been funded in whole or in part from Department of Defense funds and which have the potential to be transitioned to the First Responder community to enhance their mission capabilities.

Your organization is invited to consider submitting an application for one or more of the solicitation topics contained in the solicitation material.

Applications will be processed through a rigorous yet streamlined evaluation and selection process using the services of independent evaluators from the First Responder, business, entrepreneurial, academic and government communities.

Awarded organizations will be provided funding for product customization to prepare the technologies for insertion into real world operational tests. Business development services such as market studies, mentoring, access to venture and angel investment opportunities, and other services will be available to awarded organizations.

The solicitation is now open. Applications must be submitted to the CCAT Program Office no later than 4:00 PM (Pacific Time), Friday, November 5, 2010.
