Subject: Deadline Expired: Review results and next steps: gmlSF, CIQ, and Common Types profiles

All,

The deadline for comments to these components expired on April 5.  Since that date a few comments are being addressed and coordinated.  Status and next steps were discussed on three calls today:  1- An ad-hoc cross-SC meeting followed by 2- The EM-TC meeting, and then 3- a call with the Natl Weather Service to discuss inputs to “weather” elements/structure.

Each component author (CIQ, gmlSF and common types) understands the final changes and coordination required for completion.  Upon completion, each of these three will individually posted.  At that point, the intention is request an electronic vote for each individually.

My question is, as each of the three documentation sets are completed and posted ready to vote, can we have one person (Werner?) perform the actual electronic request for vote?  Please let me know what you think.

·         Rob will plan to complete the ICS form example within one week from today (April 19)

·         Our plan for immediate common types (and SitRep) submission is to have “weather” in common types simply reflected  as  two string elements, “Weather concerns” and “

o   In parallel with SitRep submission into public comment # 1, we will determine specific weather elements and structure for incorporation into a revision of the common types.

o   During SitRep public comment, a comment will be submitted regarding breaking “weather” out into distinct components

o   The goal is to have the “weather” requirement completed by the time the SitRep public comment #1 time-frame is completed.

Please let me know if I have missed or misrepresented anything.

Thanks,
    Tim

Subject: [emergency] Deadline for review/comment to gmlSF, CIQ, and Common Types profiles

All,

The purpose of this message is to request OASIS EM-TC review and comment to the following draft specifications, and to convey the deadline for providing your input and comments.  The DEADLINE for review and submission of comments will be on or before COB Tuesday, April 5.  Generally, the EM-TC subcommittees across the EM-TC have participated in this temporary committee, and thus have participated in development and/or review of the process and draft deliverables to date.

Please submit your comments through the specific OASIS folder were each profile document is currently maintained below.

This is generally an informal process within the EM-TC, which provides re-usable components maintained within the RIM structure in support of full EDXL standards produced and published by OASIS.  The process of making changes forward is reasonably nimble, requiring only the EM-TC agreement for such changes.

The latest meeting of a temporary OASIS cross-subcommittee group was held at 11:00 PM EST time today.  The purpose of this group is to focus on and facilitate completion of commonly required components supporting the EDXL-SitRep, DE 2.0 and HAVE 2.0.  The three supporting components now requiring review include:

CIQ (stored in IF-SC, Requirements folder):

(spec) http://www.oasis-open.org/apps/org/workgroup/emergency-if/download.php/41649/edxl-ciq-v1.0-wd01-JW-2.odt.

(schema) http://www.oasis-open.org/apps/org/workgroup/emergency-if/download.php/41657/CIQ_Profile_Schema.zip

NOTE 1:  This still must be copied over to the formal template recently provided to OASIS.  Please comment on the content provided.

NOTE 2:  You will notice additional data dictionary rows/annotations.  These will not be included in the final version, and simply note attributes currently in CIQ that will not be in included in the profile for comparison

Common Types (IF-SC, Requirements folder):

(spec) http://www.oasis-open.org/apps/org/workgroup/emergency-if/download.php/41441/edxl-ct-v1.0-wd01-JW-3.odt

(schema) http://www.oasis-open.org/apps/org/workgroup/emergency-if/download.php/41442/EDXL_Common_Types_ver04.xsd

Simple Features (GIS-SC, Specifications folder):

(spec) http://www.oasis-open.org/apps/org/workgroup/emergency-gis/download.php/41630/edxl-gsf-v1.0-wd01-LEL-v0.2.odt

(schema) http://www.oasis-open.org/apps/org/workgroup/emergency-gis/download.php/41631/edxl-gsf.v0.0.xsd

NOTE 1: In addition to incorporation of comments received, this profile will then require one additional week to coordinate through our OASIS – OGC channel (Carl Reed) to ensure accurate profiling and inclusion of any dependent objects required for this stand-alone profile.

Sincerely,
Tim Grapes

Subject: [emergency] OASIS common types, CIQ and SF update

All,

We conducted our call today with the following members.  The recent postings by Robin Covers was noted, but these are not the actual templates to be used as expected.  Werner Joerg has the action to check with Robin on target date.

At the moment, we are using the template that Jeff had started with in order to move forward with the content.  Once the formal templates are received we’ll have to port over the content.

The group reviewed the status of each of the deliverables.  Request that all members please review available drafts and provide either comments or your “OK”.

1.       Jeff:  CIQ draft was posted for review early this morning.

2.       Jeff: Common Types draft has been published for review and was discussed on the previous call.

3.       Lew:  Gml SimpleFeatures document and profile is targeted for draft distribution and review by the end of this week

SitReps outstanding items:

1.       Don:  All examples are ready except “remarks” and “estimated” are still to be added with select elements.

2.       Rob T. agreed to work development of the ICS 209 example this week.

Rob T.

Don M.
