Subject: [OASIS Issue Tracker] (EMERGENCY-18) EM TC management of CAP global parameters

    [ https://issues.oasis-open.org/browse/EMERGENCY-18?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=48546#comment-48546 ]

Steve Hakusa commented on EMERGENCY-18:
---------------------------------------

From https://www.oasis-open.org/apps/org/workgroup/emergency-cap/download.php/53681/July21-2014-meeting-notes.doc

Eliot commented on the valueName registry and discussed how the ITU OID tree could be used to register values for the OASIS EM-TC. Eliot said a request to the ITU by OASIS would enable the TC to manage its own branch of identifiers. Jacob raised a concern regarding actual management and review of the parameters and how to manage any conflicting values. Elysa clarified that it would not require the TC to manage the tree, simply provide the capability for users to self register and could be used for other EM-TC specifications. Norm Paulsen suggested this could be used for CAP profiles as well as layers. Jacob raised the concern that management should be removed from the issue title and be changed to registration.

The motion to change the issue title for 18 to “registration” and to ask the EM-TC to determine how best to proceed with requesting an OID tree was put forward. Rob moved and it was seconded by Eliot, all agreed.
