Subject: Re: [emergency] FW: NIEM Emergency Management Domain Data Model Review

Elysa -

Thanks for the positive response.

I am currently in Barcelona at the OGC Technical Committee meetings. The Emergency and Disaster Management WG is meeting this week. There are presentations on:

“Interoperability Profiles for Command/Control Systems and Sensor Systems in Emergency Management” (C2-Sense, FP-7 project)
"Integrated Research on Disaster Risk" IRDR, TU Delft
"Framework for EDM: The Search&Rescue use case (SAR)"
"Symbology Mediation for Common Operating Pictures (Incidents)

I will ask if it is OK to share with the OASIS EM TC.

Regards

Carl

Hi Carl,

It is my understanding that this information can be widely distributed.  All pointers are to data available on github.  Mark Reichert has been in these meetings where it was discussed and was on the distribution should you have any further questions.

It is good to hear from you and that you stay in touch with our TC.  I am glad to hear of your active Disaster EM Domain Group.  Please let me know of any areas we can collaborate.

Best regards,

Elysa Jones, Chair OASIS

Emergency Management Technical Committee

Emergency Interoperability Member Section

Elysa

Is this information OK to share with the OGC community? We have a very active Emergency and Disaster Management Domain Working Group. Further, many applications of OGC standards are in the EDM community.

Thanks!

Carl

Subject: NIEM Emergency Management Domain Data Model Review

NIEM EM Domain Members and Stakeholders,

As 2015 NIEM efforts gain momentum, the NIEM EM Domain is eager to accelerate our EM data model development process by expanding the review of the current draft data model to current EM Domain members, as well as the EM community at large. This will allow us to incorporate any necessary changes, align to associated standards and solidify the data model, so that we remain on target for inclusion in the NIEM 3.2 release late in 2015.

The draft EM Data Model can be reviewed via the NIEM Github Sharing portal (http://niem.github.io) by clicking on the Github Repo or Learn More tabs under Model Management. Alternately you may directly access the EM Model page via this link: https://github.com/NIEM/Emergency-Management-Model-Content . Please note that you must have a Github user account to access and leave comments on the site. Sign-up is free and may be done from this page: https://github.com/join .

Once you have accessed the EM Data Model page, you may review the material and make comments relating to your organization's requirements by updating the NIEM EM Post 3.0 Release_Change Request Spreadsheet.

Please review and submit comments prior to March 13th, so that we may review all comments and make any required revisions to the model prior to finalize of the draft model. Areas of interest include missing attributes, harmonization concerns and optimization for existing IEPDs. Please feel free to reach out to the EM Domain Facilitator team at NIEM-EM-Facilitator@cse-corp.com if you have any questions or issues within the Github EM site.

Regards,

NIEM EM Domain Facilitator Team
