Subject: RE: [emix-comment] interim schemas and xml files that suggest enhancementsto WSCAL and EMIX

Marty,

It does one heck of a lot more than just "lint"

; -)

https://sourceforge.net/projects/camprocessor/

However - you will need the latest release candidate V1.9 RC09 - which should be available this evening.

Thanks, DW

David,

I believe these are issues with the EMIX posted schemas. The modifications I proposed didn’t edit these items, I believe (hope?).

Can you provide a pointer to the parse tool used to analyze the schemas? I am interested in such “Lint” tools.

Marty

Marty,

After removing the non-UTF8 chars - here is more detailed comments:

·  Use of nillable() will cause interoperability issues. Consider adding an attribute instead to convey meaning of empty items.
  • emix:marketContext
  • emix:extendedPrice
  • emix:packageDiscount
  • emix:envelopeContents
·  Warning - date or time items with no content mask
  • /kml:Link/kml:viewRefreshTime
  • /resource:offerPower/resource:notificationTime
  • /resource:offerLoadReduction/resource:notificationTime
  • /resource:registeredGeneration/resource:notificationTime
  • /resource:productActiveReserve/resource:notificationTime
  • /resource:productActiveReserve/resource:dispatchTime
  • /resource:productRegulationService/resource:notificationTime
  • /xcal:properties/xcal:exdate
  • /xcal:properties/xcal:rdate
·  Warning - numeric items with no content mask
  • power:powerType/eui:intervalLength
  • kml:Placemark/kml:phoneNumber
  • resource:offerPower/resource:raiseRampRate
  • power:ReadingType/eui:intervalLength
  • resource:offerPower/resource:lowerRampRate
  • resource:readingType/eui:intervalLength
  • resource:offerLoadReduction/resource:dropRampRate
  • resource:offerLoadReduction/resource:pickupRate
  • resource:registeredGeneration/resource:lowerRampRate
  • resource:registeredGeneration/resource:raiseRampRate
  • xcal:properties/xcal:percent-complete
  • power:emixpowerData/power:energyPrice
  • emix:emix/emix:extendedPrice
  • emix:emix/emix:packageDiscount
  • emix:envelopeContents/emix:supportForPrice
Then spellings - this appears to be an error:

Endtbeforetolerance

also Mr Id - not well named - guess this is manufacturer id ?

Analysis provided by OASIS CAM processor tool from Sourceforge.

Thanks, DW

EMIX Team,

The attached are drafts of schema work that was done toward a white paper written for the SGIP by Aaron Snyder and myself. We are seeking review by the participants of the TT meeting. However, Dr. Cox indicated to us that there was urgency to providing a draft of the schema work to this list, and so we have accommodated his recommendations.

The white paper which includes an explanation of these will be completed after we have the participants review cycle by the end of this month.

It was found that through some small changes in each standard, substantial alignment was achieved. Note that while there is not an exact duplication of components, there is a one to one correspondence of elements in SEP 2.0 to EMIX as revised. EMIX being the standard with greater scope and additional requirements beyond those engaged by SEP 2.0, the focus on enhancement was performed principally there.

Note that in all cases, care was taken not to add constraints to any schema, only extension and clarification of capabilities were exploited. By all means, there were probably alternate approaches to the same ends but these revisions are examples that do work and illustrate the possibilities for standards harmonization.

To test the validity of the schemas, two EMIX XML examples were constructed – an implementation of EMIX figure 4-1, and, a an implementation of the TT Use Case as implemented similar to SEP2.0.

Cheers,
Marty
