Great example of what's developing in this space. More recent papers on their web site (
http://www.etnna.org/publications.html
) refer to renewable characteristics as 'environmental commodities'.
The paper on 'Intersection between Carbon, RECs, and Tracking', refers
to 'null' power (commodity or system electricity). Our base case?
Looking at the growing number and criteria for eligible renewables
(such as in http://www.green-e.org/docs/energy/Appendix%20D_Green-e%20Energy%20National%20Standard.pdf
)
these are still shifting sands.
