Subject: RE: [emix] Broadband plan and EMIX?

Both more and Less there than you might think

Got a lunch-talk from an FCC rep today. I am not sure if the FCC thinks Google Energy is enough, or if it is looking to 3rd party intermediation services. Smart grid is this year’s secret sauce; everything in Washington tastes better with some of it smeared on.

Still, it is an opportunity for the standard to see rapid pick-up, if we deliver it on-time, and if it meets the need.

I just saw this in the executive summary:

Goal No. 6: To ensure that America leads in the clean

energy economy, every American should be able to use

broadband to track and manage their real-time energy

consumption.
