I support the language suggested by Aaron.  

However I note that our EMIX schema deos  not yet treat all aspects of Real and Reactive Power symmetrically.

We have a elements in the schema for real power MW and real energy MWh.

We have an element for reactive power MVAR, but not for reactive energy (MVARh).  I recommend adding this reactive energy element.

Should we add elements for total power and total energy ?  Aaron?

We have a unit price for real energy but not for reactive energy.  I recommend adding a price element for reactive energy.


I note that  IEC 61850 for PV Inverter Functions v15d which includes the work of PAP 07 on DER and Storage Integration is available at the following link:

The report specifies a number of direct and autonomous control signals mainly to PV/Storage inverters.  Some of the signals involve either compensation for reactive power dispatch and or pricing reactive power to affect the autonomous dispatch of some classes of PV/Storage/DER inverters.

Thus symmetric treatment of real and reactive power in the EMIX schema would be consistent with IEC 61850.
