Subject: Re: [emix] [OASIS Issue Tracker] Commented: (EMIX-317) wd 19 .docNamespace section issues
Could we keep the versioning discussion on the list thread we already
started rather than bury it into this jira issue, especially since this
issue was about the namespace section of the spec, not having anything
to do with versioning. -Anne OASIS Issues Tracker wrote, On 4/3/2011 1:52 PM: 839751449.8441301863964485.JavaMail.tomcat55@mw00" type="cite">[ http://tools.oasis-open.org/issues/browse/EMIX-317?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=25065#action_25065 ] William Cox commented on EMIX-317: ---------------------------------- See also http://www.oasis-open.org/committees/download.php/41708/EMIX_Namespace_Declarations_and_Maintenance_Policy_20110403.rtf for a name space declaration and maintenance policy based on that for WS-Calendar. Managing major and minor revisions can be more effort than it's worth, so I generally prefer namespaces that include the date of publication or approval.wd 19 .doc Namespace section issues ----------------------------------- Key: EMIX-317 URL: http://tools.oasis-open.org/issues/browse/EMIX-317 Project: OASIS Energy Market Information Exchange (eMIX) TC Issue Type: Improvement Components: spec Reporter: Anne Hendry Assignee: William Cox Line 269 Problem with Section numbering: Says "1.5 1.4 Namespace" Section 1.4 was "Non-Normative References". Line 270 "The XML namespace [XML-ns] URI that MUST be used by implementations of this specification is:" 1. [XML-ns] reference points to a normative reference in the Web Services Reliable Messaging Spec which takes you to W3C Recommendation, "Namespaces in XML," 14 January 1999 which are not the OASIS namespace guidelines. Should update to the OASIS namespace guidelines. I believe latest version is at http://docs.oasis-open.org/specGuidelines/namingGuidelines/resourceNaming.html although I don't think we need to reference those in the spec. This may effect lines 236 - 237. 2. This sounds like a conformance statement/rule and therefore could/should go into Section 13 (Conformance). All needed on line 270 is to say 'EMIX declares the following XML namespaces:' Lines 271 - 277 (XML namespaces) I don't believe these are proper namespaces (following the OASIS namespace naming conventions). Strike 278-279. Unnecessary. Lines 283-284: Strike. Either redundant, incorrect, or references information that will change. |
