Subject: [OASIS Issue Tracker] Commented: (EMIX-383) Use of "entity" isoverly generic
[ http://tools.oasis-open.org/issues/browse/EMIX-383?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=25524#action_25524 ] Edward Cazalet commented on EMIX-383: -------------------------------------- To my recollection, the change from Party to Entity did not occur in an EI TC meeting but perhaps in a subcommittee meeting. The term party has an number of meaning but one of the dictionary meanings is Party: a person or entity involved in an agreement. Since EI agreements may involve either a person or an entity or both I think that Party is clearly the better term. > Use of "entity" is overly generic > --------------------------------- > > Key: EMIX-383 > URL: http://tools.oasis-open.org/issues/browse/EMIX-383 > Project: OASIS Energy Market Information Exchange (eMIX) TC > Issue Type: Improvement > Components: schema > Affects Versions: wd23 > Environment: Gerald Gray > Reporter: Gerald Gray > Assignee: William Cox > Priority: Minor > > Throughout the schemas "entity" is used where we mean "organization" (or organisation in the CIM), e.g. LoadServingEntity > Is there an instance where a resource is not represented by an organization? > Suggest change "entity" to "organization" (or "organisation") -- This message is automatically generated by JIRA. - If you think it was sent incorrectly contact one of the administrators: http://tools.oasis-open.org/issues/secure/Administrators.jspa - For more information on JIRA, see: http://www.atlassian.com/software/jira
